Iris Bennett Obituary

Iris Bennett, nee Helmer, passed away in Fairbanks, Alaska on September 4, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born on January 12, 1933 in Stuttgart, Germany to Amalie Kalmbach and Karl Helmer. Iris married Master Sergeant John (Jack) Edward Bennett on September 9, 1954 in Stuttgart. She became a naturalized United States citizen on November 16, 1962 in El Paso, Texas. Iris had four sons: John Dennis Bennett (Deborah), Bruce Bennett (Bonnie), Brian Bennett (deceased), and Kevin Patrick Bennett (Christina). Her ashes will be buried with Jack in the National Cemetery on the Presidio of San Francisco.
