Richard (Rickter) McCorkle, passed away on November 4th 2021 from congestive
heart failure. He came to Alaska in 1972 to study Electronics Technology at the
University of Alaska, Fairbanks, earning an Associates degree. In 1974 he formed
Solid State Services providing sound equipment for recording, concerts and
Solstice celebrations. He also designed and repaired all types of electronic equipment.
Starting in 1985 and until his retirement in 2002 he preformed electronic maintenance
for a variety of companies with the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Hobbies included
wood working and helping his wife with Alaska Herb Works. He was an avid reader
and enjoyed watching movies.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife Deborah (2016).
He is survived by two brothers, Jack and Larry McCorkle, of Illinois and Arizona, respectively.
A celebration of Life will be held at the Big I bar on Friday, September 23rd 6 - 8pm.
