Wanda R. Moses, age 63 of Fairbanks, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at her residence after her battle with cancer.
Wanda was born on August 22, 1961, daughter of Robert and Marjorie Attla. in Tanana, AK, loving sister of Marlene and Gilbert, caring mother to Megan , Walker, and Robert, grandma to Jaivier and Talon, and devoted wife of Jacob Moses. Wanda was a strong hardworking Kuyukon Athabaskan woman. She wore many different hats in her lifetime, including: traditional drug and alcohol counselor at Old Minto, a cab driver for over 20 years and a kuspuq seamstress. Her family said, “Wanda was like a butterfly, she was always on the go, traveling all over. She was known and loved by many and all who she touched. Wanda will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.”
Wanda is survived by her mother, Marjorie Attla of Galena, sister, Marlene “Anna” Attla of Anchorage, husband, Jacob Moses of Fairbanks, daughter, Megan Nathaniel of Fairbanks, sons; Walter Lord III and Robert Lord both od Fairbanks, grandsons; Jaivier and Talon, and many other family and friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Robert, brother, Gilbert, grandparents; Walter Koyukuk and Mary David, George Attla and Eliza Attla.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 12-noon with visitation starting at 11AM at Blanchard Family Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Birch Hill Native Cemetery.
